Interested in how culture and policy shape everyday life, the filmmaker’s first work observes Baekje culture becoming food, craft and hands-on experiences. Traditional patterns, pizza, paper fans and journeys on water reveal ways that young people can engage with heritage in the present.

What I found in Buyeo

The second work asks why young people stay in a region. Interviews and scenes of work suggest that staying may be an active choice of a suitable life and livelihood, rather than a lack of options. The filmmaker also stresses the need for an environment that helps creative ideas become real work and local enterprise.
