A presenter’s perspective / 04

BUYEO · 2026.08.24

A student of accounting at National Taiwan University, with interests in baking, shopping, travel and drawing, the filmmaker began with an explanatory video of about one minute and eight seconds. Drawings and moving images conveyed the experience of Buyeo alongside the spoken presentation.

What I found in Buyeo

The explanatory video brings hands, mountains and clouds, fields, local produce and cultural heritage into the characters 扶餘, the town’s Chinese name. It suggests that people’s efforts sustain everyday life, while nature and culture together give the town its shape.

The second work approaches Buyeo as if arriving with a blank canvas, recording its stillness and beauty. Landscapes outline the town; people met through planned visits and chance encounters fill it with colour.
